7 DAY CHALLENGE- JOURNAL ENTRY  A DAY

So today was a pretty average day in the life of Shan. Woke up and made a nice berry smoothie for breakfast, smoothie was delicious, I wish I could say the same for the bit of plastic that had broken off the inside of the blender, no more smoothies for me for a while. Hopefully it's still under warranty. After breakfast, I managed to have enough time to put on a load of washing (with no intention of hanging it out until I got home) Work was fine, went fairly quickly and Sharlene and I were on top of all our emails (killin it :) ) On my lunch break I had to quickly run to the council offices to get a copy of my Diploma of Tourism certified to send off to Uni. I was offered entry into UOW's Bachelor of Primary Education for March 2015, however, I have deferred my offer for a year so that I have time to save enough money to make it back to the states and visit my best friend Kaitlyn, and also time to save money to support me whilst I'm at uni, as I am going to be poor as shit! When I got home I pretty much laid face first on my bed and fell into a little exhaustion coma for a while, listened to some interesting Ted talks online, then ran downstairs to get the washing before the thunder storm started ( I love watching the lightning). Packed my suitcase for New Zealand, minus a few bits and pieces that I'll need to pop in tomorrow (they are part of the washing I put on this morning that need time to dry) and cooked a stir fry for din dins :) Spoke to Christina on the phone, who was lovely enough to offer me a lift to the airport at the crack of dawn on Wednesday morning (we fly out at 7am which means 4am wake up call to be at the airport by 5am) which is a godsend because it means I don't have to pay $20 bucks for a transfer.

So that was my day, not very interesting, but I after tomorrow I will be able to post exciting entries about my New Zealand adventure :)

Just before I say good night, a little positive thought for your evening..

Good night all :)

Cut to the Chase... :)

Where do I start??

It's been a very long time since I have managed to keep a blog, but given that I spend a ridiculous amount of time scrolling through my Facebook newsfeed, finding nothing interesting, then scrolling to the top and reading again.. I figure I may as well do something productive with my time. So, I have decided to keep a blog :) I can't tell you exactly what will be in it, as I myself have no idea. I think I will use it for a bit of everything, daily log of anything interesting, blog for when I travel to keep my family updated with my adventures, diary of various challenges that I feel like embarking upon. It is for this very reason that I have decided to entitle said blog 'Thing.Me.Bobs'. A term used frequently in my family to describe anything that currently doesn't have a name, or a temporary name for something you cannot actually remember the name of. I am not sure if there will be any followers, or readers but I hope to make it interesting enough that someone may find enjoyment out of it.

So.... in saying that, I am not sure of the usual blog sort of layout process. So I was going to make it easier by setting a challenge each week. Something I have wanted to do but can't really see myself sticking it out for the long haul, so I shall take on a challenge for 7 days, and report in on my progress each day here :) Below is a list of challenges that I will take on (well what I can think of so far).. most have to do with body/ mind sort of challenges :)

My Little List of 7 Day Challenges...

-Drink at least 2 litres of water every day

-Stop/Breathe and Meditate for 15 minutes

-Keep a journal, writing an entry every day

-Walk/Jog/Run for at least 30 minutes

-Give two random and sincere compliments

-Perform a random act of kindness

-Cook a home cooked meal (and try at least 2 new recipes)

This is all I can think of right now.. It's quite sad really that when I entered '7 Day Challenge' into Google, 99.9% of the results were about weight loss and dieting... I have quite strong thoughts on this, though I will save them for another post/rant :)

In addition to my 7 day challenge, I will also take on the 30 day challenge I just found online, and post one thing each day from the following list :)

So... what shall be the first challenge??? Since I have been selected to go to New Zealand on Wednesday for a work familiarization trip, I have decided to select 'Write a journal entry every day' as my first 7 day challenge. I will write my entries online, right here. Being that I will be in New Zealand and am not sure about my internet access over there (and to be quite honest, don't really want to spend time on the internet whilst I'm on holidays) I will be writing in a diary and uploading the entries when I return home.

So.. Wish me luck!! I'll keep you updated!!
